I was on the bridge over the Merced River which snakes through the High Sierras of which Yosemite National Park is a part. Yosemite Falls was before me as a family of deers crossed the river. The backdrop for their journey, as the fog lifted and the light lit the trees, was that granite cliff and its falls thundering in the distance.
