Another small victory!!!

This time I participated in a big Brazilian Photographic Event:

XVII Bienal de Arte Fotográfica em cores (Bienal of Photographic Art in colors)
Museu Histórico de Londrina
Londrina/PR/Brasil

People from all the Brazilian Photo Clubs participated.

6135 pictures were sent to the Bienal. From those 141 were accepted an went on display.

My small victory this time is:

My picture is among the 141 pictures chosen!

http://confoto.art.br/bienal2011/main.php?g2_itemId=141

It´s located in row 28 on the far right side.

From those 141 pictures they selected the 4 finalists...

I wasn´t among the 4 winners;((, but I consider myself a winner anyway, for having my picture among the 141 selected and accepted to sit on the walls of the Historical Museum of Londrina.

And here is my picture:

More motivation to get my new Canon weapon when I get home in Sweden!!! (*_*)

Agree with you Abílio, it does good to our self esteem to participate in competitions...we try our best!!!
About this Roberto, I don´t know if he is the same Roberto from Woophy. The Photo Club he belongs too is from São Paulo. That´s all I could find out!
Thanks for your words and visit! Hugs

Participating in contests, even if we win nothing, adds an extra flavour to our esteem. I already participated in some, won nothing, but it was good.
    And congratulations.

By the way, 'the' Roberto Andrade in the list is 'the Woophy' Roberto Andrade? http://confoto.art.br/bienal2011/main.php?g2_itemId=475

Hi Stew! Thanks for the comment.
    About your question?
The requirement was "Photos in Colors" (no B&W or sepia).

    Big parabéns, Laura!
If you don't try, you don't get anywhere.
You were in great company, seeing some of the other entries. Was there any theme, or was it your own free choice?

Another great succes for you. Ending within about 2 percent of the selection is a big achievement. And the photo is worth to be praised, of course! Again you did a great job. The course really pays off and you must have great teachers and an inspirring group. The level of the entries is very high and it's also fascinating to look at the other photos..Congratulations..

    Thanks Billy!
I can´t say I learned so much more than I already knew, in those 3 months I attended the Photography Course...somethings of course were added to my knowledge. I photograph since I was a teenager! I´m getting to know my camera better!;)
As the course was held at the Photo Club of Santos, I became a member of the Club and then many doors and channels were opened to me!
We get information about all Photo Contests happening in Brazil and some abroad too. Some of those contents, like the Bienal, you can only participate if you belong to a Photo Club.
Having a photo accepted in a big event like this one, gives me some points that I can use to participate later on in International Competitions through Radio Clubs of the world.

I read this and I read your other article too and I can relate with what you have said. I like the idea you had never taken a lesson till recently.... was it the lessons that gave you the inspiration to enter the contest or was it something else. I personally think you are a good ambassador for this site and photography in general so keep just being you and inspirational... Hugs Billyboy
