On the 13th Feb, 2008, the government finally held a nationally televised event where they formally apologised to the indigenous people of Australia for the systematised removal of children from their families over the last 200 years. Many people from the stolen generations attended this event. These Elders are lighting the traditional fire that produces healing smoke. After this they proceeded through the crowd of many thousands to ensure everyone inhaled some. Heavy work indeed!
