Cait Member	# Posted: 20 Aug 08 13:57 Reply Each and every photograph we take , be it scenic view, or gathering of friends, is but one moment in time captured forever. As the eldest sibling I was given the task of taking photographs, not wishing to give away my age....lol. But if memory serves me right, I think my first camera was a Box Brownie. I still have a few of my early photos, some taken of friends/family and individuals sadly no longer with us, but each photo so very special. As a member of Whoophy, I hope to gain enough knowledge, and technical data, so that the photographs I take are the best I can achieve with the basic equipment I have. And also along the way make new friends from around the world. Photography in its best form is one very special gift, its the one 'Legacy' we can pass on to future generations. Vixstix Member	# Posted: 21 Aug 08 02:20 Reply I am sure you will Cait. There are very many who produce top quality images here. One cannot help but improve if keen observation is one of your preferred learning tools. I use a P&S Olympus FE which is pretty basic and I've learnt that I do not have as much control in depth of field that I would like, not that I let that stop me from really experimenting to find the limits of the machine. Macro shots pretty well always fall short. Yet still I persevere while saving to purchase equipment that might help me to match the clarity and expertise shown by others on this site. Forums are fun. So it looks like this senior learner....lol....is sure to stay with the Whoopy Forum, and my wee hobby, will improve.....with the guidance and tips of other members. regards Cait
