after the discussion some days ago about the ads on Woophy somebody suggested that we should click ads as much as possible.
However multiple clicks from the same ip address on the same ad on the same day are counted as one click.
So if you want to help Woophy it is sufficient to click each ad only once every visit.
Better still is to buy something through the ads, personally I can recommend the photo books by Albumprinter (recently changed their name to Albelli)
Or you can buy a Woophy T-shirt via ebay

I told a number of times that I would much prefer to pay a reasonable fee, than to see ads. I will never click any ad.

every day I read newspapers and magazines that are surviving because of the money of the adds. and when woophy will survive by clicking an add so now and than, I will click. and through the adds in woophy I already made a lot of albums at albumprinter ( now albelli ). I even ordered through an add on woophy a batman and spiderman outfit for my grandchildren, so I really cannot see the harm.there are a lot more adds besides ukrainian girls! and when every tiny click will help, I go on clicking!

The great advantage of woophy is that it's free for everybody who has a valid email adress, if that means we have to accept some advertisement I can agree with it. Although it is not very likely I will click those adds but Iaint bothered by them either.
After all those adds aren't popping-up or -under nor have they any roll-over effect. They just "are". And they are at certain concrete places; at the right side above and under each page, once you this it is easily to look beside them.
But now I come to think of it, next year we're organizing a weekend for the family, in the ardennes. Instead of using my favorites I might as well click the advertisement here on woophy to go to the site of ardennes-etappes...

If Woophy needs clicks on adds to survive, I will click as many times it takes. The antique philosophy to refuse to give in to commercial ways to improve our loved magazines and sites (like Woophy), is out of date.

A monthly T-shirt for the member who clicked the most ads. That would work. It would get you rich!
Or a lottery between all members who clicked 50+ ads in the last month. That's less than two ads per day. Find something to make ad clicking interesting.

@ortho: that’s a nice approach, but for the first time I differ to your position, because only a minority is willing to pay.
And even more significant: What is a reasonable fee in the World(ofPhotography)? One consistent rate for all woophians? Different rates for Europeans, North-/South Americans, Asians, Africans or maybe rates according to the average income of each country? No - that doesn’t work.

It could be a choice. Either pay a small amount and see an ad free Woophy or don't pay and use Woophy with ads.
However this is technically and logistically more complicated...
BTW I started this topic to warn over enthusiast ad clickers that it is sufficient to click each ad once only each visit because the ad supplier does not count multiple clicks on the same ad from the same person.

Your are mistaken my friend. They are sites that have such a policy: Photopoints, DeviantArt, ... As far as I know, Photopoints started as a free site, and converted to a fee-one. And it is still very much alive. By the way, why on earth will you delete your account next week

but ortho, since woophy is still a site without fees, and a simple click can help a littlebit, I cannot see the harm. and some ads are very useful, as I said before. I even ordered cheap plane tickets once.

@ Joris
Ever thought about a paypal "Donation button" ? Shouldn't be to much work and it's free for people to use or not (nothing chances if you don't, nothing if you do).

Dear Giz,
you are right, but it's just that I don't like random adverstising like here.
To Westing124:
I may be old fashioned but, at least, I am not brainwashed. Being French, you must remember that statement by a former president of TF1 (the major commercial TV channel), where he said that "TV programs are supposed to put the consumer in the right state of mind, so that he will be more receptive to the ad interludes". Beurk!

the point of the discussion was then that SOME adds where just not necessairy. as far that it has to do with traveling and fotografs then i'm in. then i don't mind those adds. but those asiangirls adds... no. i understand that woophy can not controle exactly thos adds... a pity.
the others adds i will click on them when it helps woophy.. i just would appriciate when those nonsense adds could be banned. just a wish

Coffeejunkie, I agree ofcourse about the ads for asian or whatever girls. but just as I do in the newspaper, I skip them. I also want them banned from everywhere but that is I am afraid a struggle with no end!

@Ortho158 thank you for calling me brainwashed. As far as I see a large majority of this honourable assembly is for continuing freely without paying and click sometimes on a add. We will not be part of the bad all money money society by doing this. Just a little understanding and no sclerosed points of view. If you don't want to click, don't, but let others do as they feel best. Et c'est un Français qui n'est pas d'accord avec Sarkozy qui vous le dit. . He is not God, il n'est pas dieu.
