I don't think to be the 5th to kick the penalties is strange or means "something" special. For instance, today is known Fàbregas asked Del Bosque to be the last to kick it. There's nothing to criticize about or to elaborate any theories, imho. So simple as this: B.Alves (among the top 5 defenders in the world) just hit the post and the ball was driven away, while Fàbregas hit the post and the ball was driven inside the goal! This is one of the few situations where I consider the word "luck" or "bad luck" makes sense in football.
About the eternal discussion about who's the best, I also think there's no chance to choose: Messi is unique in so many aspects, doing "things" CR7 isn't able to, and CR7 is unique in many other aspects that messi isn't able to. So, maybe for the first time in football history we have two top players! One or two years ago I'd add Xaví. Not anymore: he's boring and with growing "faults" in his playing. Iniesta is even better, nowadays. I wonder how would it be if Netzer (the german), Neeskens (the ducth) or Futre (the portuguese) were still active today...
Santí, don't thank PBX. As I wrote above, he's always wrong with his predictions!
I start believing that among all these predictions, bets and hopes... the italians will do it, just as I wouldn't believe at the beginning of the Euro!

Statistically Italy has a good chance against Germany but so far the Germans played the best football. They play the way Holland used to do when they still were in good shape.
So they are my favourites to night.

The discussion who is the best Messi or Ronaldo will not be solved this year. Maybe in Brazil in 2014. As a neutral outsider I prefer Messi for the way he behaves on the field.

For all the Portuguese fans there is comfort. Like here in Holland the misery will be over in just one week.
So far I am still on course with my predictions ..........

Goodnight Miguel, Zoidberg and Mr. Hemels

Fantastic Italy, superb Pirlo, the best Euro player so far!
Great match, so well managed by mr.Brandelli!
Almost ending, the french referee seemed to be a mr.Platini server with a invented penalty (the italian player was beeing clearly pulled by Klose)! [Besides, Germany went to the quarters as another penalty, not allowed to Denmark, may have allowed it].

Ok, a great final in perspective, with a portuguese inside: the referee, Pedro Proença

Congrats to Italy!!!

Chapeau for Italia,
I turned sides when the national hymnes were sung.
All Italian players sang along with all their heart and in the German side only a few were moving their lips. Before the match they had already won the game
and the German defense............a drama!
The whole team was unrecognizable.

Tomorrow will be a great match I hope.

I wish the referee bunch - all Portuguese - the best of British luck as it is great responsibility.

I'm glad Italy made it, they played marvellously and had no Ronaldo and no Fabregas in their team)

This time Spain will have a say. I'm sure their defense will be much better than the Germans' one. Italy plays fast and brilliantly, so I hope they'll win.

Sorry once again, Santi. Maybe I'm wrong!!

Congratulations to Spain, a win with no "buts"!!!
Italy was a disappointment after the great semi-final
Well, now I'm a bit less sad as Portugal was the only team that managed 120m against the champions without having been defeated

Now, let's see if we can meet in France in 2016. I mean...us...woophyans, at least those who are mad with foot

Santí and Miguel, enjoy it!!!

Well, I'm quite happy
I didn't expect Spain winning the Eurocup, I swear it. I use to "respect" statistics and I was sure that Spain was not going to break that one. But I was wrong!!! And also winning the final with a terrific score (I can't remember a great final with this kind of result!)
It's true that after Motta was injured all chances of surprise from Italy was almost impossible, but the result in that moment was so clear that an overcoming from Italy was absolutely improbable.
A pretty kitten was saved tonight
